About us

Neighbors, organizations, and leaders at one table

Unity in Our Community was founded by The Lighthouse Community & Wellness Center of Lynchburg as a collaborative network rather than another program. We connect people, leaders, and organizations to identify community barriers, expand access to resources, and mobilize collaborative support across the region.

Everyone who serves Lynchburg is welcome, whether you run a nonprofit, lead a congregation, own a business, or simply care about your street.

Our mission

Three commitments that shape every gathering

  • Identify barriers

We listen first. Neighbors and frontline organizations name the obstacles keeping families from stability, and we bring those findings to the table.

  • Expand access

Food, housing, health, employment, education. We map what already exists in the region and make it far easier for people to reach it.

  • Mobilize together

Nonprofits, businesses, churches, and civic leaders move as one network, so support arrives faster and duplicated effort disappears.
