Identify barriers
We listen first. Neighbors and frontline organizations name the obstacles keeping families from stability, and we bring those findings to the table.

Lynchburg, Virginia
A grassroots collaborative network bringing together local nonprofits, businesses, churches, and community leaders to make Lynchburg a better place to live and work.

Grassroots.
Region-wide.
About us
Unity in Our Community was founded by The Lighthouse Community & Wellness Center of Lynchburg as a collaborative network rather than another program. We connect people, leaders, and organizations to identify community barriers, expand access to resources, and mobilize collaborative support across the region.
Everyone who serves Lynchburg is welcome, whether you run a nonprofit, lead a congregation, own a business, or simply care about your street.
Our mission
We listen first. Neighbors and frontline organizations name the obstacles keeping families from stability, and we bring those findings to the table.
Food, housing, health, employment, education. We map what already exists in the region and make it far easier for people to reach it.
Nonprofits, businesses, churches, and civic leaders move as one network, so support arrives faster and duplicated effort disappears.
Community gatherings
We hold community-wide gatherings at Providence Place on Oakley Avenue. Bring your organization, your questions, and the needs you are seeing on the ground.
When
First Saturday, monthly. Reach out for the current start time.
Where
Providence Place, 00 Oakley Avenue, Lynchburg, VA 24501

The network
Unity in Our Community is only as strong as the organizations in it. Every gathering mixes service providers, employers, congregations, and residents.

Direct-service and advocacy organizations

Employers investing in their neighbors

Congregations serving their blocks

Residents, educators, and public servants
This space is reserved for logos and links to the Lynchburg nonprofits and organizations in the network. Send us your list and we will place them here.
